EV Charger Installation
Level 2 charging installed only after a load check confirms the panel can carry it, or a plan for when it cannot.
What this involves
Yarrow Point, Washington

Questions
A breaker that trips without an obvious overload usually points to a fault on the circuit, such as a damaged cable, a failing device or a loose termination that is heating up, or to a breaker that has weakened with age. We test the circuit at the visit, show you what we found and quote the repair it needs, nothing more.
When the house is asking more of its service than it can give. Electric heating, a car charger, a larger kitchen or an addition all add load, and a load calculation shows whether your current service can absorb them. If it can, we say so; if not, the upgrade is priced in writing with the utility work included.
It is a known weak point. Breakers in those panels have a history of not tripping when they should, so the wiring they protect can overheat. If you find either name on the label, have it checked; we look at its condition during the in-home estimate and give you a written replacement price.
Two years from completion, on the labor for what we install. That includes connections on our devices working loose, terminations not done correctly, outlets, switches or plates left poorly secured, and circuit interruptions traced to how we connected something. In those cases we return, check it and correct it with no additional labor charge. Manufacturer defects, wear and tear, misuse, alterations or work by others, and hidden faults in pre-existing wiring sit outside that cover, and product warranties from the manufacturer apply separately.
Expect the house to be without power for a good part of one working day while the new panel is fitted and connected. The utility has to cut and restore the service, and the permit must be approved first, so we book the date around both and tell you well ahead.
Nothing. We come to the house, look at the panel and the job, explain your options and leave a written figure. You decide in your own time, with no obligation to go ahead.
Often, yes. A Level 2 charger needs a dedicated circuit and enough spare capacity in the service to run alongside everything else. We check both at the estimate; where capacity is short, a lower-amperage charger or load management can often avoid an upgrade.
Describe the job, whether it is a panel, a charger, lighting or a fault. We will come out, explain your options and leave a written figure.
